Salt and black pepper to taste)

 2 tablespoons of cream cheese

egg yolk and honey to paint

How to make a heart of palm pie:

Separate the filling ingredients to facilitate the process of preparing this heart of palm snack.

Start by preparing the pie filling so that it is warm or cold when filling the pies. To do this, heat the olive oil in a pan and saute the onion and pepper for a few minutes. Add the hearts of palm, olives, cilantro or parsley, salt and black pepper and let it cook for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.

Dilute the cornstarch in the milk and add it to the saute, stirring constantly until it becomes creamy, as shown in the photo below. After that, add the cream cheese to the stir-fry, with the heat off and mix well. Wait for the filling to warm or cool before using it.

Separate the ingredients from the dough to facilitate the continuation of the recipe!

Tip: The amount of ingredients in this pasta recipe is for 12 medium sized patties. If you like, double the recipe to make more pies!

In a bowl, add the flour, egg yolks, salt and butter, mixing well.

The dough will look like a damp crumb, as in the photo. Add water little by little until you reach the modeling point.

Divide the dough into two parts (2/3 to fill the shape and 1/3 to close the pies).

Roll out the pie dough with the help of a rolling pin between two plastic or parchment paper, to make it easier to unglue.

Use the mold as a mold, remembering that you need to cut a little larger than its diameter, so that you can line the bottom and side of the mold.

Line all the molds with the dough and prepare the dough that will be used to close them, using the mold itself as a mold once more.

Tip: No need to grease the molds.

Fill the molds with the filling and close them with the reserved dough.

To close the pies well, press the edges of the dough and remove the excess, if necessary. Repeat this process with everyone.

Tip: At this point, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Brush egg yolks over pies. If you have leftover dough, make the decoration you want!

Tip: If you want, add 1 teaspoon of honey to the egg yolk to make the pies more golden.

Bake the pies in a preheated 180 degree oven for approximately 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.

Ready, your creamy heart of palm pie is ready to be enjoyed! We hope you enjoyed the recipe and have a good appetite!
